Gazza!

Well since I'd finished a great double trilogy (Hexilogy!?) from Robin Hodd on some Fantasy books. I was in need of a new book. What I stumbled upon down in Borders in Pitt St Mall made me happy.

Gazza: My Story. This is about Paul Gascoigne, an English footballer who was possibly the best talent ever to have graced the English game. Unfortunately his depression and mental issues taxed him greatly. He fell into alcohol and drug problems as well as domestic violence. So far it is a good read, he doesn't at all shy away from any of the issues and goes into explaining why he fell into these troubles. It was first published in 2004 and at that time won the Sports Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. I always loved videos and highlights of him play when I was younger and am fully looking forward to reading some more tonight on the train home! Although because he was a bit before my time Beckham remains my favourite player.

Gazza genius! Simply have to watch it!
